Do Cats Do Well on Planes?
Oh yes, they do! Two cats, Hawk and Miel, transformed the airplane into a playground!
Miel, a cat traveling from South America to Europe, left his cage while his owner was sleeping. It is not yet known how the cat managed to open the little cage door. Hawk, on the contrary, decided to play inside the toilet wall of the aircraft.
The owner, a lady in her 60's traveling with two cats, got quite concerned after she woke up to take Hawk to the toilet for a quick cat cleaning. The stubborn cat quickly ran from her, hiding inside the toilet wall (please, don't ask me how he did it). It was barely impossible for her to rescue Hawk alone, and she desperately begged the cabin crew for help.
Surprisingly, the cabin crew told the lady that the cat was fine and was peacefully walking among the passengers - And that they had been looking for the cat's owner for minutes. What? That cat was definitely not Hawk! To make the poor lady's situation worse, it was clear that Miel had escaped the cage.
While the lady was in the toilet trying to catch Hawk, who seemed to be having fun, Miel was about to become everybody's mascot in the plane, entertaining people with his cute meaws while walking among passengers and jumping over empty seats.
Hawk, on the other hand, could end up in serious problems. After one hour of hard work, the crew managed to catch Hawk safely from wherever he went. And Miel had to come back to the cage, protesting with his unsatisfied meows.
If you are worried if your cats will do well on a plane, remember this story. As long as they have all they need (water, food, clean cage, and love), they can easily overcome any negative aspect of this experience. However, if they will politely wait for the final destination to be cats again, perhaps this is something you will only find out when you fall asleep.
